Valentino Mckeano does the Dukes pass ( on two wheels )

Post by paul555sti » Tue Jun 30, 2009 10:15 pm

Spent this evening follow Valentino Mckeano around some fantastic roads. We headed out through Glen devon and up to Crief where we stopped of for some fish and chips ( more on this story later :damnfunny ) We then headed along past Loch Venachar and onwards to the Dukes pass. We passed a S2 Exige and a red S2 Elise heading in the other direction but not together.

I have a few pictures of this evening but they are not of the highest quality due to the state of my windscreen with bugs.

We were stopped at lights and were not driving at this point honest.

Now back to chip shop :P

Having at first walked off and left the keys in the bike in Crief high street we went and got some food and then took it over to the benches outside to eat. After eating the grub we started walking back to the car / bike when he suddenly realised he had lost his helmet :damnfunny . It turns out in the hurry to feed his face he had walked off and left the helmet and gloves in the chippy.

Had a good night on some great roads and a spirited drive home from stirling via Airth. :thumbsup

What an absolute blast. It took me a few miles to get into the swing of things, but once in the zone, i had a great time. I wasn't as quick as i normally am in the car, but hopefully i didnt hold You up too much in the twisties.

My main problem just now is blind corners, but once my bike control improves, that should help me out. Was able to move around on the bike alot more by the end of the evening, rather than being totally stationary.

Oh, my other main problem is knowing what the feck to do with so much gear. I cant be expected to remember helmet, glves, keys AND chips.

Brilliant fun, especially when i got 48mpg, what did your subaru get  :damnfunny

Oh, dave, i worked on getting rid of those chicken strips :thumbsup

Leaving keys in the bike is my speciality
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

The main thing that stopped me leaning the bike over any further was lack of vizability through bends, and just general sensibleness/fear of the road. I dont think it would be a problem on the track, when you can be sure there is nothing coming the other way.

once i get more skill in terms of adjusting my line mid corner, i'll feel happier pushing on a bit more.

p,s dave, i wont hear a non biker slagging off a biker friend like that. shut your mouth cager  :P
