I had mine repaired and it took less than a week inc collection and re-delivery. Tbh, it sounds like a fault box as a drive failure after 4 months is terrible BUT may be better for you as the drive failure is only covered under the initial warranty, not the extended red ring thing! Out of curiosity, is your 360 horizontal or vertical?
The drive on my original failed after maybe 2-3 years I reckon so i'm on my 2nd...
If you've got the HDD space, maybe worth installing games you'll play a lot to preserve the drive.

I've not decided yet whether to buy this for the PS3 or the PC.
The PC is easier to use, but more people i know have it on the PS3
anyone on here got it for the PC?

Bought it yesterday for the PS3. I don't usually like shooters on consoles because I can't aim for toffee without a mouse, but the snap-to aiming seems to work ok.
Not tried multi-player yet, but given that single player seems to be hours and hours of following some guy who has "follow" floating above his head and not really having a scooby what's going on, and peering through blood tying to spot which pixel shot me from a brazillion miles away, I'm not too hopeful for my chances online...
I should stick to tetris and pacman.

How to I install a game I have bought on the HDD. I have the 60 GB drive and don't save anything apart from progress in games so I suppose I will have adequate free space. I have it horizontal on a shelf below the TV.
I do hope it comes back quicker than the estimated 3 weeks!

Microsoft will date it from the serial number as to its warranty status.
