LPG

Post by Titanium S1 111S (gla) » Thu Jul 20, 2006 12:45 pm

Seriously considering getting a V8 Discovery with LPG conversion to go with the Liz. Anybody know anything about LPG conversions? Do they come with certification that I should be checking out? Are there any MOT type issues? Any issues with Engine life, the rover V8 should be good for ever, the LPG going to cause a problem?

Thanks guys.

Think I have seen or read about a few V8 being converted. Could convert teh Lote and keep the V8 on petrol ... http://prasad.it/misc/top%20gear/Natura ... Elise.mpeg

Conversions must be fitted by, or checked by, an approved fitter who'll then give a certificate to say it's been done properly. You'll need this for insurance purposes - and peace of mind!

As far as I can make out the Rover V8 takes quite well to LPG, and a Discovery so equipped will be a nicer vehicle to drive than the diesel version (and as cheap to run). If you can find a good one, go for it.

Mike.
