NLC - VW warranty...

Post by Stumpy Nugget » Mon Mar 15, 2010 5:16 pm

The( Eco-machine) polo bluemotion is in for its 20K service at Arnold clark today... The rear washer was not working... route cause was that a pipe had became disconnected or broken. The punchline is that since the screen wash in the waterbottle was not VW approved then the work to repair the rearwash will not be covered by warranty... ARE YOU HAVIN A LAUGH?????

So, that means everytime your screenwash runs out you have to go to the dealer to get it filled up to conform to VW warranty... :damnfunny :damnfunny :damnfunny

Ask them to show you the part of the warranty that advises that fluids used in your car have to be VW approved.

Out of interest, how did they know it wasn't VW screenwash?!

I asked them to chemically show me that it was not VW approved Screenwash to which I said they were having a laugh. Picked up the car, made a fuss and did not pay for the 2 mins of labour it took to fix the problem.... winner! :thumbsup

Report this to VW in M Keynes via customer service - they will get a severe bollocking (again) and you may get a free bottle of VW screen wash :damnfunny

Arnolds are a bunch of f****** ****s

I had to make one claim on my VW; used Verve in Glasgow. No problem at all. My claim was due to the airbag warning light coming on (which was came on after a heavy landing  ). So, given that it was me who had caused the problem (although I did not own up to that bit) I was pleasantly surprised to have a completly hassle free repair.

Quite surprising really, dealers are usually keen to carry out work under warrantee as the manufacturers are usually pretty good at paying, even when the dealers 'find' other issues to add to the work load.

I suspect this will be more and more common.

I've seen a big thread on another forum with guys bitching about Porsche refusing to give extended (chargeable) warranties on any car fitted with a non-Porsche part - even if it's a Tracker.

They are just shooting themselves in the foot, nobody's going to go back and buy another one with that type of service.

I think VW do have a certain type of washer fluid that you have to use if your car is fitted with those fan jet washer squirter things in the front, but that was only to stop them from gumming up. Thats what they told me when I took my car back to them to get them fixed after they had gummed up, they still fixed it under warranty (specialist cars VW)
