OK whats next then?
OK whats next then?
Hi y'all
So I have my sports zorst - Larini Club Sport
induction kit - Hurricane
gear linkage upgrade and quickshift
headlamp covers
headlamp brackets (Still to fit, but I have them!)
Whats next then?
I have a very annoying squeek from the nearside rear suspension so I'm thinking possibly ball joints, toe links & track rod ends. But I will have to address the lack of jack and axle stands, so maybe harnesses?
S2 suspension and a Geo to follow.
I was considering suspension bushes, but was put off by the labour cost as I doubt I can do this myself in the car park! (Also I have a lack of any presses or real mechanical skills)
And no Ninja, no neon.

Thanks for the offer!
Not too sure about the bushes, pretty sure mine will be life expired (Read f*cked - 8 years old and 38k miles) any easy way of telling and how long did it take?
Would I need any special tooling (Presses etc?) Other than the obligatory huge geat f*ck off breaker bar for all the wellied on nuts and bolts along with about a gallon of WD40?
A suspension refresh would make a world of difference I'm sure. Job for winter perhaps? I'll chat with the painters and dopers at work see if they could sand blast the wishbones and repaint them for me one at a time.
Any tips on checking for knackered components?
http://www.tadts.co.uk has some good tips but some of it doesent work!
Keep the ideas coming!

damb was going to suggest neon strips for all the vented areas! would be cooool as fcuk!!
how about a huge amp that takes up your whole boot?
or maybe a few extra exhausts? seems to be all the rage down strathy park this weather - your car's cr*p it's only got 4 exhausts!! mines got 6 exhausts sure it's only got a 1L engine but it sounds fast! lol
on a serious note how about some carbon goodies? inner door panels? rear diffuser or a cylinder head upgrade?
if all else fails - you could always lower it??? wahahahahahahaa

Simon: No not tracked yet,
I want some training first but I can find anywhere round here to get any. I did try Lotus 1st at Crail but they don't sem to have any planned days up here. The only other options appear to be KH and a few laps with an instructor? Any ideas?
The harnesses are just something I like the look of to be honest.
(Happens alot)
Ninja: Carbon tat eh? Is it that carbon is the new chrome? Was considering a nice 'flip' paint or maybe some rainbow sparkles? Some 17" rims and a 5 foot plasma tv in the boot?
Anyway by huge amp that takes up the boot, I assume you mean any amp that will fit?
What about a nice 1.2 K series out of an old rover 25? Must be lighter, it only has one camshaft...!
Stephen: Thanks, I will investigate!

Why not just try a track day? Dodgy Dave did his first today and it was in the wet and I'm sure he'll confirm that he loved it. You'll learn far more about your car on the track than you'll ever manage on road and it's a hell of a lot safer.
Andy Walsh doesn't really do training at Crail, doesn't pay for him to do it when he can do it at North Weald. He did it earlier this year but that's only cos he was up here for Tut Towers I think.
You could try Knockhill for training, a few people I know have done it and said it was good. It also gives you the advantage of getting to know the track with an instructor. Your first one will have you all nervous but once you get out there and get the first few laps out of the way you'll really enjoy it.
Have you made it along to get some pax laps? That's the first step and it'll soon get you itching to take your car on
