Downpipe advice

Post by Ardiem » Fri May 28, 2010 12:43 pm

I've had my S2 K-series sitting at MMC for over 3 weeks now waiting for an exhaust downpipe to be fitted. Unfortunately they seem to be on back order so I have no way of telling how long it'll be before I can get my car back (MOT failure otherwise, so can't move it). I spoke to MMC this morning and suggested they fit a Janspeed exhaust downpipe which they said they would do if I supplied it.

Can anyone confirm that this http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?p=JSSS999DP3&a=i is the correct part and whether I would need anything else? As far as I am aware, everything else on the car is standard. Also any opinion on this at all, would I be better waiting for the standard Elise downpipe or is there something better. Pros v cons etc?

Cheers

I'm expecting to take delivery of my new downpipe/flexi tomorrow. Ordered from PTP on Wednesday for circa £165. It's a standard janspeed stainless one.

Cool, so presumably you reckon that's the thing to go for? I saw it on PTP too but Larkspeed seem to be a fair bit cheaper. Did you order anything else with it or is all you need the pipe?

I ordered gaskets to go with. From ptp it comes with new stainless bolts and I've aready got stainless system from behind the flexi. Also I changed my lambda sensor last spring but if your's is more than a few years old it may be worthwhile replacing as it may not survive the transplant
