Larini Local to Dundee

Post by StiflerMR2 » Sun Jun 06, 2010 5:13 pm

Hey All,

I'm pondering whether or not to stump up for a Larini Club Sport for my K-series elise. From the youtube videos it sounds great when you are on it but as I'm getting on a bit I'm a little concenred that its perhaps too loud the rest of the time.

Is there anyone local to Dundee who has the Larini fitted to their Elise, or failing that anyone with one attending a trackday soon so that I could jump in and listen to it from inside the cabin?

I'm sure it will be awesome on track but as track time is only about 10% of my time I just want to make sure its live-able wtih for the rest of the time, as good as youtube is you cant beat hearing it for yourself.

Cheers,

-Mark.

Can't help with a live demo Mark... but I'll see if I can find any footage from when I had one on my K-series. Here's one from mine on the Tube:

I still had a CAT & it's really not that loud if you plan on keeping a CAT in place to be honest... just a nice sound & you do get the occasional pops on downshift.
I have no signature.

I do still have mine but I've also got a Hurricane air filter and that makes a lot of noise too. But if you want to come out in the car to hear it just give me a shout.

I have a Larini ClubSport fitted, sports cat and ITG and to be honest it does sound great. However, on long journeys it does get a bit bad for the ears. Roof on driving on the motorway for example its a PITA to be honest, roof off blasting about it sounds great. I am located just outside of glasgow so if you were in the area you could swing past for a listen.

Cheers boys,

I'd be keeping standard air filter and keeping the cat in too, like I say I just want a little sportier note under heavy acceleration and I don't want to drown out the natural sound of the K as it sounds really good, just looking for that little bit more :)

I've got a Larini CS too. (plus Hurricane induction)

I love mine- it sounds great on acceleration & overrun - you still get the full character of the K coming through but does get have a bit of a drone @ 3,000 - 3,500rpm range which is about M'way cruising speed. If you do lots of cruising miles, then you may want to go for the Sport option rather than the C.S.
