Markus Muller

Post by tut » Mon Aug 16, 2010 5:46 pm

Robin, you will remember Markus from Stelvio 2004, made up my suspension brackets with John when they snapped on N1. He is coming over for a tour in September with his G/F along with his friend and wife. We are meeting up here on Sept 25th as they are staying near by at Kemnay, and they will be staying at North Queensferry on the 24th if you wanted to meet up with him.

However he can not get onto the Forum, and I can not understand why. Here is his latest mail. Any ideas?

Cheers

tut

ps think that he forgot to attach the .doc file.

Hi Tut, thanks a lot. Can`t wait to start our trip ...

I have added a print screen in a .doc file from what I`ve recived when I try to get http://www.scottishelises.com
(it`s a site called "apache HTTP server test page powered by centos")

I don`t know what`s wrong and how I can get an account for your forum (if I remember right, then I have had an access for it...month ago) :-(

do you have an idea?

cheers,

Markus

Tut, I had the same message when in South Africa, speaking to Ed as to the problem it appears that any spambots or the like from certain countries that post on the forum have lead to certain countries having access to the site blocked. it was this same Apache message that I was getting.

Just a guess though!

Looks like that is it Dave, but would not expect it from Switzerland as the rest of our Continental friends have no problem.

Same in Portugal (Algarve) this summer so is definitely a problem across parts of Europe.

Selective racism :) I wanted to block the entire Chinese subnet but the ISP I was working for was not keen.

Helps stop the spammers, if he knows his IP (http://www.ipchicken.com) then you can PM an admin to sort.

Markus is a member, posted twice last year:-

"It was a great time to meet all of you for a blast to the top of Stelvio and the Rombo after it, especially with you Tut :thumbsup we will miss you as every year at Stelvio 2009! I hope to meet you in Scottland next year when we come for vacations. I mail you for some details after Stelvio.

Cheers, Markus from Switzerland"

However because of spam, Simon blocked Switzerland, but has now opened it to the Alpenhorn, yodeling, yokels.

Hi Tut, I get this problem in Switzerland too. I discussed it with Robin and he thinks it's likely that the IP range has been blocked as we may have had some spam from there before. I think if he can get his WAN IP address then one of the Mods can maybe fix it...

Cheers, Peter

Jolly good Markus, look forward to meeting up again after six years. Robin will probably be along shortly.

What is the spec of your car now?

spec of my car is more or less the same as in the last few years now. I did some minor changes only as, proalloy radiator, AFS long range fuel tank, JRZ suspension 400/450lbs, TMR wheels (only for Stelvio trips ;-) lightweight engine mount and alternator...

Hi Markus!

Good to see you're coming to Scotland - you'll like the roads here I think :-)

I like the idea of a long range fuel tank - how big is it?

Cheers,
Robin

Hi Robin,

I hope so and I`ll love the nature as well. From 24.sept. to 25.sept. we stay at Northcraig Cottage in North Queensferry if you like to have a beer with us ;-)

The fuel tank is 58 liters.

cheers,

Markus
