AA parts & labour

Post by IanD » Thu Mar 31, 2011 11:10 pm

Anyone know from experience if an ABS fault is covered under the warranty?
ABS light is on but although ABS isn't specifically excluded from the policy, it states big disclaimers that warning lights being on doesn't necessarily constitute unsafe to continue therefore wont always be classed a breakdown and covered.

Pretty sure you need to breakdown/or call out the AA to start the procedure? I am happy to be corrected though, i know a lot of users on here are pretty well versed on how it works. I have used it only once, got a new battery, cost me £25, as that is the excess - saved me £50 :thumbsup

Yes, that pretty much how I have read the T&Cs. The repair must be to fix a fault that caused the vehicle to breakdown. Same here, I have only used it once and that was for a motorbike battery so saved £75, which paid this years Parts & Labour (Damn, due for renewal tomorrow  )

unfortunately you have to breakdown and be recovered before the warranty kicks in :(. I had gear cables replaced under the policy on my mg-f

You don't have to be recovered - you need to have a call out and unrectified fault.

Agree you no longer need to be recovered.

I had the rear ABS sensor on the Merc go and it caused merry mayhem with the car and they paid out on it.
