An OMS single seater - seriously rapid little cars.

Arrived mid afternoon hoping to see maybe the last of the timed runs, only to find out that practice was still ongoing. Tracked down Jonathan & Fd who passed on the news.

Here's hoping to a full & speedy recovery Eric!

Cheers

Found out that I could log onto S_E from my mobile whilst lying in a dormitory bed in Durness at 0600 this morning after being woken up by two guys that could snore for Scotland, to read of Eric's accident. I know how close it is between a hit and a miss, but he got away with it in almost one piece, so he will be following Brian's path but even more so, and will come out of it at the end.

If you are reading Eric, stay positive, they work miracles nowadays, compound fractures are bread and butter to them, so they will get you back to new.

All the best,

tut

went into see Eric yesterday, who is doing well and very posative about the whole thing.

He is missing part of his right elbow, but is now able to move his hand and can write his name. His left leg is smashed in a few places from the knee down to his ankle. He's had it operated on twice already and will need at least 1 more op to put the plates in. The worst injury is his right foot, he's missing part of his heel :puke

Think he is going to be in hospital for a couple of weeks yet. It was mentioned that i could get him a mobility scooter so he can get about/take the dog for a walk, but he was having none of it :damnfunny

Planning on poping back next week, he's in ward 47 @ ARI if anyone want's to go see him.

He did say how lucky he was to have 2 doctors on site and Kinnon and the marshalls did an amazing job. Image

Cheers

Glad to hear he is positive about the outcome. .

Don't tell him, but Sarah said that Malcolm Webster used to work on Ward 47

Alan was in ward 48 when he had his accident, are they joined on to each other?

ARI A&E really are fantastic. Who would have thought back in July last year that Alan would have full movement back in his arm and hand after almost cutting it off with a circular saw. They can do wonders these days so keeping my fingers crossed for a full and speedy recovery, Eric.

And Well Done to Kinnon and the Marshalls. :thumbsup They obviously did a grand job, even without me and my extensive experience of saving lives!  (Bet you're glad Ruth and I weren't at the hairpin this time, Kinnon! )

Bad luck for Eric, the car was a hell of a mess . . . I've always been very nervous at Fintray, nasty wee track, too many people end up in hospital off the finish straight . . . hope he's ok . . .

My first event in the wet in the OMS (same chassis as Erics car but a smaller engine) was pretty scary to be honest . . . wheelspin in gears 1,2,3,4,5 . . . my incar video batteries were flat, but a friend running immediately after me took this . . .

Tricky cars in the wet . . . but loads of potential in the dry . . . was short shifting all weekend and looking after the motor after a rebuild . . . looking forwards to some dry track time at Golspie . . .
