Has anyone thought of an MGRV8? Quite rare..

I got to drive one on photo shoot for a Dutch car mag back in '95.. Absolutely lovely car and the noise.. 190hp. Not the last word in handling but not bad despite the rear leaf spring suspension.. Only real downside is you can't be more than 6ft tall..

Audi S4. 4wd, 4.2l V8, 344bhp and it sounds brilliant and half the price of an RS4. Funnily enough Ive got one for sale, Avant as well so nice and sensible with Milltek exhaust.

Some great suggestions there guys, I especially love the El Camino 8) but too old and too American for my immediate needs.

I have made an appointment to view a lovely e39 M5 this weekend on the way down to Norfolkshire. Life is too short not to

Apologies Peter! I was restricting my comment to those cars that I've driven (something I was encouraging others to do ;) ) and to date, I've never had the pleasure of piloting an R8. If you'd like to remedy that however...

LOL, I can vouch for it being quite chuckable! I'll avoid your other question for now

I Have a good mate selling an immaculate e39 M5 (last of the v8 m5's) it has a hall and scott exhaust system and its probably one of the best examples i have seen, it also drives like a dream, i had the pleasure of driving it earlier on this year and if it wasnt for themiles i do, and the amount of car already outside my house i would snap it right up, to be honest, i doubt there is a better one for the money - he has been a bmw mechanic for the last 28 years.. which helps!!

I test drove an immaculate 2 owner 1999 E39 M5 at the weekend near Hull and it was very much a case of don't meet your heroes as it didn't live up to the billing I had given it in my head. It was a big letdown actually. So I have decided to change tact and look at something a bit more comfort and waft orientated, oh and a lot cheaper.

So its now Great Britain (XJ) v Japan (LS400) v Germany (A8) and some more test drives to follow :D

XKR available as well for under £10k.

Lots of options out there so you'll have a bit of time trawling through I think. How do they cope with mileage? Fair amount of weight for suspension brakes etc

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3044084.htm almost shed cost
