Around £12 is line rental, works out slightly cheaper than BT. On top of that I only pay for call made during the day, midweek, which is never made as we're at work anyway and I mostly use my mobile while I'm off.

We have more than 2/3 of the channels. Still pay for variety, knowledge, style and culture, news and events and movies.
Movies, i dont have that, it must be about the same price as sport.

It's a little bit less I think, but we watch movies all the time, so for us, it's good value. :thumbsup

I voted to look for an illicit feed.

I have been an avid F1 fan for years and have attended a different GP every year since 2000 ( and was at a couple before that too). This year I had intended to go to Japan but you couldn't book because of the earthquake etc. Now that you can book I am waiting for a date for a minor operation so can't commit yet and any GP was likely to be last minute stuff.

However I am so sickened by what is going on that I wonder if I will be so committed to watching /attending in the future - I don't intend taking any Sky packages as you could be paying hundreds of pounds for what will amount to 10 GP's a year.
As others have said - put that towards a GP trip. I really can see interest tailing off as a result of the 'deal' and Formula 1 suffering in this country as a result.
It will be interesting to see what the viewing figures for the GPs that the BBC do take will be like, I fully expect them to pull out all together after a year or two and leave Sky to it

I think we are the original mugs since we have the full Sky package with Movies, Sports plus the ESPN Sports package.
I really should get round to doing the "I want to end my subscription" phone call to Sky and see if they will offer a bit of a discount :?

A bit like Nizzy

Don't have much time with the kids running around and the rest of the time I'm offshore so to be honest I don't think ill miss it.
We do have Sky Sports but I've been mentioning to the boss that we should cancel it.

The only race I ever really went out of my way to watch was Spa anyway so probably option 1 is best for me

This has led to us considering our Sky package, and how much we actually watch TV. The biggest advantage for us is the Sky+ facility, however, there are now plenty of decent digi boxes with the same capacity, so the result is that we are now thinking about ditching Sky altogether!

We don't have Sky and never will (famous last words!). Can't believe some of the monthly subs fees being quoted here - I think I'd find a hobby/other pursuit :!:

Worryingly, I could potentially be a 'Why Don't You?' (70s kids TV reference 8) ) stylee abandoner if/when entire seasons go live on Sky only. I am a keen test cricket fan, but since it went to Sky it's almost as if the sport has ceased to exist in my world. Unthinkable the same could happen for F1 after decades of watching, but I thought 'forgetting' test cricket was unthinkable... :(

Much the same as me -

- do have sky, but not sports, and don't watch enough to justify the extra outlay, so will just take things as they come.

Agree with Jason - amazed at what some pay, but I kind of knew that other folks happily throw £££££££ for the full package....

....time you threaten to jump ship & strike a better deal.

Dom, we went through the dilema earlier this year - purely prompted by the technical difficulties we had with Sky.

We got a Humax HD box and I can honestly say we have never missed not having Sky, we have most if not all of the programmes we used to watch and can record ant get HD for a one off purchase with no monthly subscription. :thumbsup .
If you leave your Sky box 'plumbed in' you can still get Motors tv, which is the only channel I was concerned about loosing and if you get(buy  ) a different card from Sky for a one off £25(?)you can still use the Sky box as a freeview recorder
