Question for Edinburgh types.

Post by pete » Sat Aug 06, 2011 7:16 pm

Off to that Edinburgh tomorrow morning and I understand they've been having traffic difficulties. I've not really been following it to be honest, are they all resolved now?
Trams all working?
If you were coming in for the day where would you park?
Park and ride or just drive in?

Or park somewhere and bring the bikes and cycle about?

On a Sunday you can park in quite a few more places, but just coming home tonight the cones were out at Murrayfield for some Rugby event I think (today/tomorrow?).

Plenty of parking in and about town, so partly depends on where you're hoping to go and how long you'll be here.

Cheers,
Robin

We'll be there all day, George Square then round and about the bustling metropolis that is Edinburgh.

We'll probably have a go at parking, need to be there for 10 so should be quite quiet.

Since the weather looks pish I would either take the train or use the park and ride at Edinburgh airport.

Queen Street should be fine on a Sunday. Only a couple of minutes from Princes Street and free parking all day on Sundays. In fact most of the New Town will be free on Sundays.

The rugby at Murrayfield was today (Scotland v Ireland) so no issues if you're coming in from that side of town.
