ebay heckling

Post by craigieb » Sun Aug 27, 2006 1:32 pm

just had a weird "question" posted on a bike I have for sale on ebay:

"I hope someone has tooken your toolbox of you because you have just ruined this bike" :o

I'm not used to getting heckled on ebay - is this normal :?:

Reply saying something along the lines of "this area is for questions - what you made was a statement - if you don't know the difference perhaps you shouldn't be driving bikes, or allowed out after dark"

I had an odd response yesterday to something I've bought. The seller said she couldn't accept my Paypal payment because I'd paid by credit card - would I pay by bank account instead. I thought Paypal just transferred the money into her Paypal account, I didn't think that it showed where the funds had come from (beyond which Paypal account had sent it) nor did it matter!

Any ideas? It was only for 35 quid so it hardly seems worthwhile to try and scam me...

Ah that makes more sense (although she could have been more up front). Thing is I'm with Intelligent Finance who, besides being the worst bank in the world are not a clearing bank so "direct transfers" take about 17 years to complete.

I don;t know about heckling but I've seen fabulous wind ups. One guy selling a car, I think it was a Galaxy or similar, had hundreds of pointless questions
"Has it been raced"
"errrm no it's a Galaxy."

"Has it got 7 seats..."
(Advert clearly states has seven seats)

etc etc Just loads of gratuitous questions. Hilarious.
