:protest ...a little extreme to get one over on you stu..... and risky as you may of caught him trying to take it back. also, what more worrying is if some one else had taken it and what situation that would of put you in  so in some way relief the item is not stolen or lost, however, now its brought up an issue of security and to be a bit more vigilant.....technically he has tress passed ....you could get the last laugh by saying that some other items have gone missing in the shop and you have him on cctv :thumbsup : ...see if he likes it, playing dangerous games  ...

two wrongs dont make a right as they say...

What an arse, never mind he still doesn't have his manifold sorted and if he treats peple like that it may be some time. Probably just as well you didn't do the work, sounds like the awkward kind that would be back 10 times with problems.

If there was some paperwork with T&C's etc then maybe there would be an issue with him removing it - I guess he was cetain that was his manifold, but that might not always be the case. Either way he shouldn't be lurking about your property removing items. It would have been really sweet to have called him up and told him he'd removed parts belonging to someone else!

He'll get what he deserves at some point, people like that always trip themselves up eventually.

You are required to notify people that you are recording them on CCTV so if you don't have signs up then it could backfire on you!

As others have said - lucky escape from future problems on your part.

To be honest I found this quiet funny  :blackeye

I've been messed about by dealers not returning calls and doing what they should by certain timescales so I can remotely relate to this. I'll note this for future reference in the event I'm mucked about again

technically he has tress passed
- there are no tresspass laws in Scotland.

I would seriously look into security - he or someone else could have stolen a air bit.

You always get tossers, just hope that karma will sort it all out. :thumbsup

I never mucked him about, told him i would call when i had done it, and never got a chance.
Made it clear to him as well that i was very very busy, and would try to fit it in,

I am not going to stop a big job, to put his manifold on a machine!!!!

( he was made aware of this as well)

If you are/ might record 'the public' it is a legal requirement to display appropriate signage.

I would forget about him and take some measures to improve security. If he is such a tosser, he might let slip to someone that your security is lax - it just takes a bit of blether in the pub and before you know it all sorts of wrong'uns are targeting your workshop.

We had to fit all that stuff because of airfreight regs as well as 3 locking gates to stop the pikey's stealing the raw material. Now the only way in is via goods in or reception. The other doors have secondary cage doors to let the heat out in the summer. It's a PITA you have to do that stuff but it's amazing how many wonderers/nosey gits you get.

I'm not saying you were wrong in what you told him or gave him the run around but he obviously seen it that way and on that basis I can relate to it.

If anything it's prompted you to up the security which can only be a good thing :thumbsup

Under promise, over deliver.

"Yeah i can do that for you mate but might well take me up to a week, we're busy but it will get done"

2 days later

"Hello, your manifold is ready"

Always come out the good guy :thumbsup

basically yes, we had problems with a woman who had horses on livery and got the Police involved to help evict her as she was being a real bitch, but we couldnt stop her inviting whoever she wanted onto our land - cant do a thing, even the Police couldnt do anything with loads of people milling about our stables and land! And yes its total MADNESS not to have trespass laws!!!
