Water additive

Post by DavieK » Mon Nov 07, 2011 1:22 pm

Quick question for you all.

I built a bubble tube for our eldest and was wondering if anybody knew of any additive I should add to the water to stop it going all scummy? Would De-ionized water work?

Cheers in advance

Clean it out every week if in sunlight, once a month if it's not.

Try using some pond/frishtank anti alge stuff

Never thought on the obvious anti alge stuff  will look into it :thumbsup

Dont know how washing up liquid would work as there are a lot of quite rapid bubbles so dont want a foam party in his bedroom

25l of whisky might be a tad on the expensive side Tut :D

Washup liquid works fine and was on the instructions with mine, as it is very dilute you will get a couple of bubbles for the first couple of mins then years of clean running. I have only changed the water once and that was when moving house.

Yep washing up liquid....... but as crazy as it sounds my mates on Norge land all use meths to stop their washer liquid freezing, will make the screen slimy though. Probably eats seals etc but...... . . ..cue Ali
