and another car valuation please?

Post by David Bryce » Wed Dec 14, 2011 4:02 pm

Thinking about taking my mates VW Golf 2.8 V6 4motion of his hands to get me through the winter.

2001
69,000 miles
FSH
Heated leather seats
Cruise
rain-sensing wipers
auto-dimming rear-view mirror
6 cd in dash changer

He is after £4200 but I reckon he is asking almost £1k too much after seeing what is an autotrader?

Could be the end of a beautiful friendship?

I have based it on a 51 plate

Independent Dealer £2,830
Private Good £2,300
Trade approx £1,455 (I am assuming its minty)

Last 2001 through auction (albeit with 90k miles - Grade 3 condition) fetched £745

:cheers

Pretend like an X5 or M class merc :damnfunny :damnfunny :damnfunny

The golfs are four wheel drive, just not quite the system used in other vehicles, but still 4wd none the less. One of my pals has a Golf TDi 4wd, and it's very effective in the snow - out performs many 'proper' 4x4's :thumbsup

i BELEIVE (dont quote me) thats its basically FWD until it sense slip when the rear wheels start to do some work. I have no idea how good it is in the sno,w but its gotta be better than the equivalent FWD golf

Cheers folks, one of two things are about to happen when I phone my mate in a second, either I am going to be wrong with the age of the car and it is much newer than I think or he is going to be none to happy with the valuations being given here
