Same to all, part of Holly's dads roof kindly decided to take a trip across the street and go through the neighbours front window. I've never seen anything like it it managed to go though the double glazing take a lamp out through the front room and land in the dining rom. 3 quite large pieces as well not just a small piece so be very careful!

God knows what my house will be like, I'll go a run past once it's safe.

Fairly hairy here in Fife, the only thing left working with the power out is the AGA, so have managed bacon rolls and coffee by candle light! Going to reacquaint myself with books and board games today!

Dundee is pretty windy too. Since moving in bad in July, we've already had to have 2 roof repairs done, hoping this won't cause the 3rd :(

Looked like a chunk of the roof of the fire station in Stirling had blown off this morning, and landed right in front of the doors.

Had the weird experience of the spray from the car getting blown past me while driving at 40-50 mph with a following wind!

Seems much calmer in Stirling now though.

Was out last night at a house party - beautiful walk there and back. Must have slept through it all this morning or it hasn't been near Aberdeen.

Have lost part of the ridge & countless slates off the roof this morning. The slates are scary as they whip around the garden in the wind!

Have already got a claim number from the house insurance company, just need to find a decent roofing company now...............

Wheelie bin on the rampage in Edinburgh

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-16393280

I can count at least 4 traffic violations there:
1. Speeding
2. Illegal Parking
3. Driving on the wrong side of the road
4. Hit and Run

Not looking forward to finding out what's left of the house when I get home this evening.

Slates off the roof have come off and broken the chimney for the central heating, it's now not working properly as it acts as an air inlet too and it's not getting any in now.

I spent an hour this morning tieing bits of fence together as a temporary fix before they escape for good - massive tree down in a neighbours garden too. Guess it is (was) 60 foot tall remarkably it missed his house and garage and only wiped out his boundary fence.

Strong here but not as bad as yours. Have the generator on standby, and our massive Welsh slate roof is always a target, but just bits of pointing off so far.

Clare and Jamie just took the dogs for a walk on Aikey Bray, no way I am going out in this, and the poor quine was blown horizontally into a puddle.

It's really windy here today as well. Had to hold onto my champers glass a couple of times down on the beach.

Happy new year to all from Egypt :D

Happy birthday to Linzi, did you celebrate yours last week or decide as I did that *1 does not count?

Are you doing any diving or sticking to drinking and dining? Bang out some photos.

luv from the Duncan family.

Just home. Initial inspection = 2 tiles from edge of roof blown off and smashed and a few more that look a bit wobbly.

Anyone know/recommend a decent roofer?
