the ebay one looks in better condition
but it has the Renault engine and 4 speed box
The JPS is genuine and extremely rare and is known as a JPS Twincam Special with the 5 speed box and Lotus twincam engine.
Needs someone to apply tlc tho'

I like tem too, a real piece of history! There was one is Practical Performance Car with GT side pods and a huge wing, sounds aweful but it really worked, especially when it was revealed that it had the chassis chopped about to fit a small block chevvy!
Am I right in thinking that the gearbox was pretty dire as well as the old twin cam?

Viewed the advert: for the 1st couple of seconds I thought that Lotus were cutting their advertising costs dramatically and using Graeme from MMC for the ad

It was called the Breadvan, unusual bodywork, but at least different.

It's actually much lower roofline than the Elise (really!) - you lie back in the bloody thing. The slab sides are nowhere near as big as they look and it's only that shape so the rear deck can clear the height of the engine.
As with so many challenging looking cars, makes so much more sense in the flesh.
