You could be forgiven for buying the Alpine. I remember working as a mechanic at Renault when the "new" alpine came out and it is a really special car. That V6 engine is pretty good too. I would hate to have to try and keep one on the road, though, but 15K seems like not so much money for something so unique and in good condition too.

The Alfa would just be suicidal. You would be longing for reliable K-series HGFs after a month of owning the Alfa :-)

Cheers,
Robin

Not as much as I thought they'd be.
The SZs took a dive a few years ago, they were up at about 45K 10 years ago. Fantastic sounding car.

George, I "accidentally" wandered into an Alpine owners club meeting in Cagnes Sur Mer (Near Nice) one year. They had a car show followed by a regulation time trial over the Col De Vence. I now understand your leftfield urges

No good to you Pete, even at that price, as it's a 2+0. You would have to leave the little ones at home

Love my 90's classics and would have the A610 in a shot if I could. Although a Venturi and Alfa SZ's would also be on the wish list!!

Noticed the 525hp 996 on the same page. Like the spec for the money.

I could not do that to them - would feel guilty

Just let's hope Brandon does not see this thread as it could be worrying when it comes trade up time if he offers me just £15k

There was a project Venturi on eBay last month which I reckon shared the same v6. Not sure what they were like to drive etc:

Ended just shy of 4 grand it seems:

Looks pretty cool, though I can't help but feel there is something very 'Grand Theft Auto' about it..

Saw one of the very rare RHD ventruiis at a meet up here a couple of years back
Very understated and had that 'not quite finished' feel about it but I don't know if that was factory or because looking after one must be a nightmare!
Don't remember it having the presence of the Esprit for some reason but it was a few years back

A guy in the 7's club traded in an Alpine and bought a lovely R300 - much better suited to Scottish roads. It was a blat with us that made him get rid of the Renault a couple of years ago!

My penchant for the A610 and its GTA predecessor has been mentioned on this forum before, and previous Alpine creations (the 310 and 110 in particular 8) ) so a lovely car in that colour especially :thumbsup Brave at £15k tho

Ref the MVS Venturi (or Ventury as it was once known as), I kind of saw it as a more luxurious, Gallic, Noble, as the latter models such as Atlantique were rather special.

Alan McDonald of Dalkeith (ex TVR chappie - Brandon motors) used to occasionally have one for sale, but his webpage is down - is he no more?

Pah; common as muck... If you want a 90's classic sportscar, look no further than a Spectre R42...
