Brave Enough For No Reserve Elise Sale?
I've had my S1 Elise 135 listed for sale for a few weeks now with virtually no interest.
It's on the classifieds on here, SELOC, Pistonheads and Ebay.
I've reduced the price from 8895 to 8195. Is this still too high?
I don't know if I'm brave enough to relist it on Ebay with no reserve and just accept what it makes... Would anyone like to guess?

I'd not list it with no reserve, personally... unless your starting price is already at the absolute minimum you'd part with it for.
I have no signature.

You could put a cheeky disclaimer on it saying "car advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to end auction" or some crap.

The certainty of the sale is the attraction though. If these cars are now only worth 7k or something, I'll just have to accept it.
Or is it the case that because they're a bit more specialist it'll take a bit if time to shift?
Other option is to trade it in, but I doubt a mainstream dealer would be keen to take the car on.

Is it a "need to sell" or "want to sell"?
IMO, if it's a "want" - stick to your guns. Might have been better earlier in the year before the summer was a total washout, but all it takes is a couple of weeks of decent weather.
"Need" is a bit tougher call.

Sounds like a good price for a 135 already to me based on other prices over the years on PH.72elan1304 wrote: 8195

It's not a need to sell, but now I've finally made my decision to sell I'd just like it gone.
So if anyone on here wants a S1 at a depreciation proof price, give me a shout.

Personally I think a S1 135 deserves its small premium so keep it safe and just hold out.

Being an SVA car doesnt help matters although I did sell my 160 SVA to a German Bloke.
The soft southerners dont like to travel for cars, which is a shame.
I'd buy her back in a flash if I could only convince SWMBO.

Re: Brave Enough For No Reserve Elise Sale?
what are the links for your ads?
I'd be tempted to 'refresh' them (i.e. repost so they are at the top of a list)
Its seems a really good price for S1 S130
I listed out all my service intervals date/ mileage in my ad. a few months ago. I also included photos of all angles of the car and interior (if you are going to take more photos, take a sh1t load of every panel, underneath, engine bay etc etc as overseas buyers will want to be able to see everything before coming over. drop them all on a photobucket account and put the link to the photos on the ad.
For first 3 or 4 days I had around 4 enquiries a day.

She doesn't have to be obeyed - just find somewhere else to keep "your investment" initially - its only if you ask her and she says no its disobeying anywayed wrote:

According to recent research, Mum makes the bulk of financial go/no-go decisions in most households. Hiding an investment is likely to be seen as tantamount to tax evasion by said Financial Controller but I bet the penalties are even more severe
