Tale of Woe...SLS

Post by IanD » Tue Jul 24, 2012 8:11 pm

Probably get removed but do i give a fcuk, PM me if you need more details, people should be aware.

Having huge problems with Ali at SLS much more than the usual cant contact him.
Know a lot of you guys now him but I am very angry and let down by him.

My car is stuck with a painter at the moment (Jamie his 'ex-mate' who i'm just off the phone to) being held to ransom until Ali coughs up for money to pay for work Jamie did after Ali damaged my car and I only found out about on speaking to Jamie. This is after i shelled out £700 after he fcuk up my engine.

I'm going to get some legal advice on this tomorrow.

I don't see why this should be removed. It's hardly the first time is it?

It wouldn't necessarily get pulled, Ian.

But if you want to post further, obviously stick to clear facts, attempt to avoid presenting purely an opinion as if it were fact, etc.

Naturally, if you are seeking some professional advice then it's probably best to say no more publicly at this point in any case. The forum is, of course, very public.

Understand the wish to vent of course.

Really sorry to hear of your difficulties.

Thanks for some interesting PM's in response to my post, some were eye opening.

I'll will not be making any further comments on Ali from now onwards for legal reasons.

Hope you get things sorted :thumbsup I have a funny feeling Ali will be out of business in the not to distant future given the great work Craig at MMC is doing these days!

Oh and just be careful as last time I voiced my 100% factual opinion on a certain bodyshop I was threatened with legal action and mods removed my post.. :?

Why is there always a seemingly clandestine feel about SLS on here? Every thread of displeasure started by members of the SE community reportedly having issues always seems to fizzle-out with no publicly aired conclusion...

Just comes across as a bit odd :?

I think because we do not want to hit a man when he is down.

I tried to post a balanced view even though he has never worked on my car, but as such I have had several pm's concerning both the lack of communication and the standard of work, so I will bow out at this stage.

Maybe because there is no conclusion? Or that conclusion is not publicised by the parties involved? Who knows!

All that is asked is that people stick to the facts when posting about their experiences in such cases.

Note that we cannot be arsed getting involved with legals, so if we start getting flak from lawyers about stuff we might decide to remove it, as Lewis pointed out above.

Cheers,
Robin

Now, I totally see Jason's and Lewis' points, and I also understand the mods not wanting legal involvement, but...

Rossy. We had an explicit request from the other party for the comments to be retracted / moderated. Legal action was to be the next step. We are not geared up for that kind of thing - this is a non-funded not-for-profit forum - and Lewis was asked to desist.

Ah - ok. Thanks for the clarification.

As I said above, I fully understand the SE mods not wanting legal interest :thumbsup
