Then add the cost of getting it coded to the immobiliser in your car - might not end up that cheap. Only really useful if you've got a knackered MEMS, too.
If anybody actually needs one, I think I have at least one kicking about that could go for beer money.... (as would just about anybody who had decent engine work done...)

If you keep the standard throttle body (or swap for the alloy one of mostly the same dimensions) and you keep the swept volume and compression ratio of the engine standard then the MEMS is able to compute airflow and thus fuelling. So it can cope with changes in cams and head fettling quite happily. I don't know how much further than about 160BHP you want to take this ... but I had a MEMS fitted on my old 160-like engine and swapped it for an emerald which I got mapped at Dave Walkers. I discovered there was no difference in peak power, with a slight smoothing of the torque curve - I kept it though because I got an extra 500rpm that were usable

I suspect mine is runing a bit lean as I have bigger tb & vvc inlet. Pops and bangs nicely especially in fog for some reason...
