Loving the car... a few too many stickers for my liking, but as it'll live under the cover for 364 days a year I don't suppose it matters

Congrats! Lovely motor, and in good hands.

Think the belts are wrong way round. The Schroth ASM belts (yellow tags) should be inboard to stop the passenger and driver headbutting each other in the event of a collision.

The belts are also handed so you'll need to swap both shoulder belts from drivers to pax side etc.

Also buckle on the lap belts should be inboard. Can't quite tell on the drivers one from the photo.
Thanks for both these comments. :cheers

I just had the harnesses sent directly to MMC so they could fit them before I collected the car, foolishly thinking that they might know what they were doing, and gave it no other thought.

I have gone and taken a closer look and you are both correct.
Despite the big warning labels and helpful stickers on each individual strap saying what goes where I see that there is a Driver and Passenger strap on each seat, the ASM belt is on the wrong side and the lap belt is back to front.

Just spoke to Brandon who is sending someone out to me tomorrow to fix, so mustn't grumble too much :?

I'd love that without the stickers and proper number plates

Make an offer. I actually haven't put any stickers on it (other than the windscreen one) and if your offer is acceptable then you can take off as many as you want and put your own plate on ;)

( I got a 3/4 sized plate for the front but unfortunately the original plate had been fitted with 2 big screws through the front clam which are visible with a smaller plate. Ho hum. )

Result on the fix. :thumbsup
Shoulder straps are a quick and easy fix but for the lap belt the seat will need to come out.

Strange on the drivers lap belt, if the buckle is on the outbaord side is it on upside down too? (in which case it won't make up properly). The lap belts should be handed so worth a check that you have the correct parts.

From my memory of the Schroth stuff, you can put the buckle on whichever strap you want, can't you? It's supplied separate and connected to one of the lap straps on assembly. So they could have inserted the straps on the wrong sides, then paired up the buckle the right way up.

PS - Lovely car Jim :thumbsup

Hi,

So was the yellow 111R in MMC yours?

If so can you give me some history on the car please, I'm looking for a 111R and may go to view the yellow one and also the graphite grey that MMC have in stock. Any info on these two cars would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ian.

I just had a wee look again..

The buckles are both on the outboard side so will simply swap sides to both be inboard and still face the same way up etc.

Copy / paste from the fitting instructions say:

Correctly orientate your harnesses. The release buckles sit on both 'inboard' sides(closest to centre console)and the shoulder belts MUST have the yellow tags on the 'inboard' sides also.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!

Just as well I don't drive it
