Here we go again....
At least they are saying "7 based", so is that 5 new editions in the seven range?

Aye, it's not 5 new cars though, is it? It's just 5 new spec levels for the 7.

Possibly even hinting at a cheapo selection with live axles again. Just means they're raiding a parts bin, not making a new car.
Still question whether anyone will buy a Caterham coupe after the 21, but then again, they'll have had a few more years in F1 to try and build a reputation that's more than just trackday cars.

I suspect the number of R500 customers are running low! Wise move as the budget end of the market has been ignored in recent years.

I do wonder if they might bring out a basic model with the new 1.0 Ecoboost mill, assuming they can tune it to give a nice linear non-turbo-esque power delivery.
But a back-to-basics approach is most welcoming, a mate had a 1.4k powered 7 a few years back with 95bhp iirc and it was a sweet little road car

Was the Elise that really killed off the 21, with Lotus going up market with the next Elise (if/when that happens??) they may have the small & light sportscar market to themselves. Shame the 21 didn't catch on, I'd probably go for one if they weren't so scarce.

Charlie, spot on sir, the bad timing (for CC due the elise launch) and lack of development funds killed the 21
Too 7-like to drive (ie not comfy enough) and things like fixed side windows limited the Market too much. A certain chap I know is now effectively "mr caterham 21" and knows the whereabouts of every one ever produced and if any are available for sale....some of you may remember him coming up to an SIDC day in his red one, after a few shandies the night before at mine
Lots of info here:

Oh, and I recently stumbled upon the original emails from when I bought my 7 trailer, and one has an original picture of your car in its blue and yellow colour scheme if you're interested
