Still deliberating options. Spoke to someone last night who got me thinking. Dangerous I know.

If I did not go for an Audi and went instead down the Porsche route, what model/age etc should I be looking at for circa 45 - 50K??? I am already leaning toward an older 911 than a Caymen and the cockster really is not in the running.

All suggestions welcome.

To be honest the sensible money would be on a 911 (993) Turbo as they hold their value so well, however not exactly cheap to maintain and may not be what you want: http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/clas ... upe/245231

I think Gen 1 997 GT3's are hitting your price point (or try the 996 GT3 if you want some cash in reserve).

Definitely recommend on getting an inspection and can recommend a couple of companies if you want.

You'd also be into 997 Turbo territory for that money. Maybe not what you are after?

Porsche Aberdeen are pretty much handing out test drives on the new 991 just now..

I know one coming up for sale in Aberdeenshire if you are serious. Daily driver and well looked after, they are moving to Tanzania for work.

What version and at what price approx? When will it be coming up for sale?

I would probably wait until spring before buying but I will need to do my homework first and might be persuaded to sell/buy beforehand if I got the right price for the Lotus..

Avoid the Turbo - just nothing like the car the GT3 is - its head and shoulders apart from the rest of the 911 range.

As I've said was thinking one might be the way forward for me now there are 3 of us, but not chance, not a fan of the Turbo in anyway.
