I think its DrH on seloc. He has a thread running about it and looks very cool. Does away with the extra pump, swirl pot setup which I really couldn't understand anyway.
He doesn't mention price thought, just that it was stingy..

I thought swirl pots were to stop fuel surge / starvation while under heavy breaking or cornering. Would have thought it would make a good addition for a honda'd elise... if I'm reading Craig's post correctly that it has been done away with, would seem like an odd choice.

Edit, should add; I'm no expert!

I think the swirl pot was needed because of the pick up and tank design, maybe thats not needed with this tank? Maybe its still there just inside?
Here is the link, the guy has done a great job of the car, really impressive setup.

Also on mine I just used a bigger in tank pump, one of Gaz units which I think is what Tut has.

I think the swirl pot in the Hondas was to let you use the standard tank pump to fill the swirl tank and a higher capacity pump in the swirl pot supply injectors (as the standard lotus item was a bit weak for the Honda fuel flow, esp when supercharged)

There wasn't a higher capacity option that fitted in-tank when the Honda conversions came out. The thinking was that the highest fuel flow level was only needed at peak throttle opening, which isn't happening all the time, so the swirl pot would be enough to feed this demand without emptying, while the in-tank pump topped it back up when demand lessened.

Little bit of a fudge, but the most cost effective way at the time to avoid re-engineering the tank as part of the conversion. That's all IIRC.

The standard S1 fuel pump for the Honda conversion was fine. However it could not handle the power when it was S/C.

A friend gaz on SELOC made an upgraded version at a tut price, so just replaced the standard unit in tank with it. Just cut out a small cone shaped piece from the access panel behind the seat and swapped them over.
