Well done on getting home with a smile on your face - the Elise will test your patience but always a good story to tell afterwards .... remembers driving along the motorway with the exhaust manifold held together with some wire borrowed from a gay trucker and the undertray strapped to the back of Giles' elise like a giant whale tail spoiler

The police tried to stop us but gave up in the end
Welcome!

I am sure you will find every outing in an s1 will be the same, it's just that you get used to it.

One wonders how you established his sexuality and what you did in return for the wire.

It's more what he was trying to make Ross do ... we suspect he kept the wire tied to his truck for impromptu car park entertainment - such as, lash the trucker to the rig, etc., etc.!

Robin seems to attract the unsavoury crowd when he is out on a run.
Brings back memories of Stelvio 2004 in France when we parked up for some repairs next to a Motorhome, and several cars that turned into the side road turned around and shot off. Then a couple of charming black men got out and started sharpening their shivs, whilst behind them some rather attractive lassies in their underwear were waving madly at us. They were obviously Elise lovers, so I started to go over to have a chat with them, but Robin said the car was fixed and it was time to go.

can't understand why everyone is down on the elise saying it has breakdown tendancies, i did 20,000mls in one year in mine, and apart from the window falling out 7 minutes after i paid for it, it was fine. ( i cried a little, wondering what i had let myself in for)
technically the window fell in, (the door) but seeing as the rain had just came on it was a little inconvenient, but that's what god made coats for....

You obviously don't read the forum that much, then

They fail with monotonous regularity, but it's all part of the fun

This may seem harsh, but I reckon many of the failures are as a result of a lack of preventative maintenance, and many owners choosing to ignore "that funny noise" when it starts. I did nearly 20K in my first elise without hassle, and so far over 12K on this one, with only one minor issue. Since I have been using MMC for servicing etc, I am much more confident in my car getting me to my destination.

One minor issue? Which one?
(and did MMC fix it?

minor issue - a wheel fell off, but it was ok, i had another three just sitting there.
i did 20,000mls in mine as well, and never even thought it was ever going to let me down, try and kill me - yes, but let me down, no..
