G, seems that your heart is set on the C4S. Good luck in finding the one you can cherish :thumbsup

I've got a '96 993 C2 and absolutely love it. After I sold the Exige I got a Cayman S. It was a brilliant car and very capable and quick but it just didn't put a smile on my face in the same way the Exige did. It was just a bit too refined and too easy to drive quickly; it just didn't satisfy in the right ways for me. The 993 puts that smile on my face. It needs to be (for want of a better word) 'properly' driven, there are no electronic aids (save ABS) and the feed back through the wheel and your backside is much more akin to the Exige. The car is quick and now I've updated the suspension the handling is excellent. Ahh, oh yes, the sound! That is one thing thats hard to beat!

A few specs on the car: '96 Guards Red 993 Carerra C2, HB seats, RS steering wheel, front turbo PU, Bilstein HD's, H&R sport springs, M030 front and rear anti roll bars, HID headlights, RS engine mounts, Motor Sound Pack, Dansk mufflers, Dansk cat bypass, Wayne Re -map 305bhp, 18" Turbo Hollow Spokes on AD08 rubber

One thing that I would find interesting from the Porsche owners here is who they use for servicing?

I have used Motortune then started using David Phillips (just easier to get to being in Edinburgh) but always open to suggestions.

Also any recommendations for seat interior retrim would be appreciated.

FYI...

Not sure if this will help, but when doing my 'research' I found that any half decently specced 02/03 C4S with around 50k miles on it would sell within a week or two having been listed at £22k-ish.

There was one at Paragon I was very tempted by... and it sold within 48 hours of being listed at that price so I missed it.

If you want one for sub £20k, then unless you get lucky.. you'll need to go private I think. Certainly very little real chance of getting one from 991V or RPM etc. at that price point.

What they're worth on paper in the book and what they're selling for in the real world just now doesn't necessarily match up. There is a lot of "future classic" chat on the interweb these days and that's probably not helping bargain hunting (hope it's true though!! £30k next year for mine  )

So far so good for me. Appreciate the C4S may not be the ultimate driver's 911... but as a daily driver ... working for me and I can confirm it gets up a snowy street with ease but will also go nicely sideways in the snow if you ask it to!!!  :thumbsup

:cheers

Ozzie,

The pictures of your car from last years Sweeping up the leaves run don't do your car justice. Your car looked stunning then. One of the nicest looking Porsches that I have seen :thumbsup

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the Dansks too.

Going to be swapping my standard exhaust for something a bit more fruity and I've been pointed towards Dansk by a couple of people now...

Cheers!!

Dave.

Davie Philips is pretty good. PK Supercars might be another option but more of an Italian focus.

R8 served me well in the snow today!
