Don't know whether your Porsche is new/old but the older it gets the less relevant it is.

Yep - Porsche will be testing with the 991 (possibly 997) so the N rating is pretty much irrelevant. Have exactly the same with the 964 as there is no way Porsche will be testing tyres for an old vehicle like ours.Gareth wrote:It's a 2003 C4Sdouglasgdmw wrote:As Iain says, 'N' rated does not matter. Re: Porker lovers
I think my porsche must be broken.
Did over 800 miles in it this weekend on super fun twisty roads and it just kept going round corners brilliantly without a hint of understeer... Weird.

As per Facers; you had a pram-wheeled bridgestone shod VX ahead top test the corners for you.

Dave, were you driving fast
I use the Federal trackday tires which are cheap and better than the 888 on the road.

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Re: Porker lovers
I bought a Cayman 3.4s last year to use as my daily driver and the engine had the dreaded failure noted above. Spotted it almost immediately after buying it. Long story short it was sent back to the purchasing dealer who had it repaired (£8k bill) and then got the Finance company to take it back under DSR's.
That experience along puts me off Porsche's. Spoke to Hartech and Porsche Edinburgh, along with many specialists and it turns out that the failure is actually extremely common.

996 annoyance which I believe is TADTS.
Petrol tank. If empty, put £20 in...doesn't register on gauge or trip.
I have to fill right up for it to work.
Apparently once you use 1/3 of a tank, remaining fuel is an estimate.

I would replace sender unit
It's an easy job and not to expensive from memory
There is some accuracy issue around the shape of the fuel tank, but it should work more accurately than you are describing

It's a saddle shaped tank so needs to be more than half full to register. It's all in the manual btw.
