There was a sub-station theft down here recently that outed a good bit of the town for days and caused a surge that led to four house fires. Thieves made off with £40 of copper.

I really struggle to understand what goes through the minds of these people. They might not give a toss about the consequences for the rest of us, but surely even the thickest would do some sort of cost/benefit analysis (life vs a couple of quid) and think 'oh hang on...'

I'd want to be super confident that a) I knew what I was doing and b) it was very high value stuff before trying that!

If these morons want to make danger money then that is OK with me, send them out to the third world to do landmine clearance. They’d be well paid for it and actually doing some good.
