Seems these days that you can't even break wind without having a user name and password which has to be 16 characters long, have a combination of upper & lower case, numbers and special characters. Oh and make sure it's unique and for additional security never write it down
I was speaking with my brother who works for Amazon Web Services in the US and got onto the subject of passwords and he directed me towards:
https://lastpass.com/
Have to say I'm very impressed. Has browser plugins for all the usual suspects Firefox, Chrome, Opera etc and will auto generate a random password and can also form fill for you. All you need to remember is your Master password for logging in and it stores the rest on their secure servers. It then prompts you to delete all the stored usernames and passwords in your browser. The other benefit is you can use it on multiple computers anywhere by just downloading lastpass then logging in. You may not want to use it for sensitive sites like Banking etc but for the rest of the Pish I find it ideal

I am always wary about trusting an on-line service with storing on-line passwords it feels to me a bit like putting all your eggs in one basket.
I have 3 or 4 passwords each with variations for both home and work use (so probably 10-15 options) but it does get frustrating when one of your tried and tested (& memorised ) passwords isnt accepted as its too short or the wrong case or whatever and you need to go with something totally new.

If you works anything like mine I have at least 15 programs that need passwords and quite a high % of those prompt me to change password every month. I reckon the most common button used on websites is 'Forgot Password'.
