I got some new plates for the Exige and done the DVLA tax change etc. so thought I'd better fit them when I got home. It was dark and wet and I couldn't use the garage as my (George's) 111s is in there...argh, it's your fault George
Anyway, drove the car up to the garage door to get some light to do the front.The front plate was squint when I bought the car and it's always annoyed me. Removed it to find about 5kgs of sticky residue behind it! Couldn't be arsed to clean it off due to the conditions but thought, nope, do it right - it took about 40 mins to get the bloody stuff off! Then got my proper sticky-back-foam-number-plate stuff I'd bought for the job and lay in the wet drive to make sure I didn't put it on squint. Lined it up, step back to look at it - perfect!
Thought thank god for that, at least the rear will be quicker. I couldn't see at the rear of the car so decided to reverse back up the drive to get some light from the garage. Jumped in the car and started reversing out on to the road to turn it around. There is a small drop onto the road but normally, if taken slowly then nothing scrapes...crunch...I'd put the plate on too low. Get out the car to see the plate lying on the driveway, take a mini tantrum and then throw it into the field before going into the house in the huff...then returned 5mins later to get it out the field.
I have no tape left.
Almost an hour of wasted time...for bloody number plates…arghh!!!
