I think that those who don't pay tax, I.e benefit dodgers etc. (Not including the disabled or elderly) shouldn't be allowed an opinion, I wonder how that would change the opinion on yes or no!
Would probably reduce the yes vote by quite a margin separating the chat from the wheat!

The real issue is slightly wider than that, the best way i can put the problem is that they give stupid people a vote.

So you're suggesting that 51% of the voting population are stupid? I think it's that way of thinking that's got the No campaign into the mess it's in

I'm not that right wing - but for the grace of God,and all that!
But I do feel the people who will suffer most are in that category. If the currency issue can't be sorted then it'll be their giro cheques that will be bouncing. In a selfish way, I feel reassured by that. I recall visiting Hungry in the early 70's where the locals would treat you like royalty if you had some foreign currency to trade.

This is what worries me. The one thing that is sure is that we have a country that is divided almost equally..
I also think , should a yes vote prevail, nothing should be negotiated until a Scottish General Election has been held. The leadership that agrees terms should be given a mandate by the people based on the new situation. Personally the thought of Salmond & Sturgeon negotiating the separation scares me more than the thought of a Yes vote by a long way.

I'm not going to stand by and simply watch this happen. After casting my postal vote, I thought I could switch off.
How wrong was I.

That was worth a read, if nothing else because I can clearly relate to feeling the point where my previous modest level of apprehension was replaced with a genuine chill up my spine when, as I heard the most recent poll results..
I'm sure others had a similar 'moment', but perhaps on the flip-side...

I'm shocked and disappointed at this turn of events although not that surprised. I'm a proud Scot living in England. I'm also British. I've spent most of my life living in Scotland and while it was my choice to move to England I'm 'gutted' that I don't have a say in the most important decision to face the UK since 1939. I can well understand the increasing sense of anger across the rest of the UK that they are about to have massive change forced upon because of the will of a tiny minority of the popultion of the country and there's nothing they can do about it. I can only hope that the undecided voters turn out en masse next week and make the right choice.
I should also add that I've been appalled at the vile way this campaign has been fought on both sides. The no side for their constant negativity and stupid banal adverts treating the electrorate like idiots and the yes side for their cybernat nastiness and anti UK rhetoric. It's narrowminded jingoism at best and at worst... well it's how countries end up in conflict.
Worried and saddended of Bedfordshire.

It says what it says, Pete. I don't mind if you feel it's empty.

Pensions are paid to us from down South.
If the currency situation is screwed up which is very likely, then our £'s would have to be converted and paid in Glots with the resulting costs for currency conversion every month.
