Top Gear Christmas Special,

Post by ruadh08 » Sat Dec 27, 2014 10:30 pm

Is it just me getting annoyed watching these plonkers wreck three perfectly good classic cars? :tired

Did not even bother watching it. Knew what to expect.

Real shame to see the esprit being trashed. On the upside, Murrays must have worked their magic on it before selling it, as it's lasting remarkably well.

Lotus forum "lets see some German cars!"

Car based entertainment programme in car based entertainment shocker once again. Can all the miserable dickheads who know better do us all a favour and just not watch it.

At close to 20 years old it certainly proved more reliable than my 6 month old Elise!...
I can live in hope.

The same old programme format with the (despite all the press about it a while back) rather unexpected ending. Truth be told I'd completely forgotten about all the fuss they caused.

I thought it was great!

In this day and age of constant baking programmes and reality TV with no-named celebrities I still think it's awesome that we get a program dedicated to us. Ok so it's an old format and most of the pieces are scripted but it's good harmless fun.

The scenery was fantastic and it's a part of the world I've never seen so that was nice. Clarkson has clearly listened to the media (and his boss) as he certainly seemed to have reined it in a bit too. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who dreams about taking part in an epic road trip with my mates every time I watch a TG special.

Predictable, but entertaining Xmas telly.

And I really didn't mind they brought along those 3 cars. It was part of the stunt.... And did more for disproving the unreliable Lotus jokes in 2hrs than Lotus have managed themselves in 50 odd years!

I do think we should send the troops in to get the cars back even the fat German . Where is Maggie just when we need her.
It was the best of the specials. Not sure if I will try some of the stunts in the Esprit.

I'm with Paul & Tut on this, don't know who these shows are aimed at.
IMHO just pisses off enthusiasts and I reckon as "mainstream entertainment" they're not entertaining enough on a broader level..........caught the 2nd half yesterday and enjoyed the scenery bits, rest was usual crap.
