NLC Car selling gurus...

Post by pete » Mon Feb 02, 2015 5:00 pm

Looking for some advice from the car selling fraternity...

A pal is trying to sell an Audi Q5 here on autotrader but isn't having much luck (beyond one chap who seemingly just called to say it was too expensive).

Any suggestions where else he could try - it's been up for a couple of weeks so far. Or any suggestions at all - he's a new Porsche to pay for...

Quick look; photos of the Quattro & Sline badges, but that much is obvious from the heading, looks and it's being a 4WD but no photos of what the non-dash part of the interior is like?

Is it expensive? Has he tried we buy any car for a baseline price?

Agree with Woody, more interior shots needed.

Stick it on PH instead...more likely to find somebody looking for a 170ps manual.

The pic of V5, fanned-out MOT certs, keys, old tax disks and owner's books with service stamps can't hurt either. I know it's all online now, but it does inspire a bit of confidence in a private sale.

Could also get it wrapped in white to attract buyers from Aberdeenshire? There are 2 white Q5s on my street of 12 houses, and only one black one, so obviously white is more popular. :)

Ross T recommended eBay Motors as an outlet too.

Good idea, I'll pass that on too.

The other thing I thought is, it's the type if car at a place in the market where most buyers may well be at the dealers looking at HP on one this age or PCP on a new one.

Surely the fact it is an Audi Q5 is a major factor :|
