Taking my Elise to Dubai

Post by Mellow Yellow » Wed Jun 10, 2015 12:50 pm

Am I crazy?

I'm moving to Dubai end of August and up till now had thought the only option was to sell my S2 Elise, however I'm now thinking about taking her with me...

Lots to consider such as import tax, exporting it there and also would the k series handle the desert heat?

It's on pistonheads now but I really would like to keep her!

Just a thought- when I lived over in Oman rhd cars were not allowed.
You sure you can import a rhd to the Emirates?

I think I saw something on an advert for an Exige for sale out there where it had some spec changes to cope with the sand.

Would not contemplate it. No way of using an Elise properly out there, six lane highways, brain dead drivers, 30 year old A/C Landrover is the ideal car.

The only excuse for a car is to get from A to B, forget any enjoyment.

Thanks for the feedback and advice guys. I think I've not really much option based on the facts and would be silly to look any further into taking it :(

Anyone in the market drop me a pm!
