Pikey

Another word that has been taken away from us that has been used hundreds of times on here.

Did anybody know that it has the same connotations against Gypsies/Travellers as the N word has against Blacks?

What now Mods?

Top Gear were vindicated as they were found to have used it in the context of 'cheap' rather than to describe er.... :? Travellers ! - it's not been stolen from us yet :blackeye

So the way I'd read it, to call someTHING "pikey" remains ok, but to call someONE pikey will result in an instant ban.

Howzat?

No strictly speaking- it was cited that it could be a derogatory term but in this instance was reference to someone (Hammond in this case) who 'lives on the cheap'
