Woofter!

Ranulph Fiennes ran 7 marathons in 7 days after double heart bypass surgery.

Only able to because I pulled him out from the Wadi Darbat in Dhofar in '73 at night after his Troop were ambushed.

My dad had a quadruple heart bypass and recovered well... Took about 1.5 yrs to be fully fit but great progress in first 6mths was superb. However my father in law had a triple and did not make it through the operation 24hrs later. His complications were due to putting off the operation for over 10yrs!!! And his veins could not take the work ultimately. Lovely lovely father in law whom we miss but he was a stubborn bugger who refused treatment and massive amounts of advice from private doctors to get it sorted.

Get it done, get it done early and it's a well known operation with excellent statistics of success

Guy I used to work with in his late fifties had a quadruple bypass about 5 years ago and made a rapid recovery, was back at work on light duties within 3 months. Totally successful life changing op.

He is back on the fags, booze with a terrible diet and refuses to take it easy and gets stressed. :?:

Cheers guys, just had an envelope from the Hospital with no letter inside. Very efficient.

Phoned up to be told it will take up to sixteen weeks for an appointment. However knowing the routine from the past if it gets serious then it is a 999 call.

Yeah best wishes Tut, do you have some form of private care? Or do you need the referral to go private? Regardless 16 weeks seems extreme!

Bound to be some way round that, your the man to find it.

Make sure they conduct a humour bypass...

A pal of mine had triple bypass surgery he will be I think 70 this year, had the surgery in 2009, high stress job and extreme drinking habits... He still managed to win the SE Asia classic series two years later. There is hope for you yet!

Lost BUPA when I left Bristows Craig, and I don't think even my Pension would cover re-joining.

There is a Plan B if it gets worse, but the new medication that I am now on appears to have improved it, even something simple like aspirin which it seems I should have been taking but had not been subscribed.
