Blast away the winter blues 'run'

I have a wife free weekend coming up. Wouldn't mind going for a run to either Dornoch or a similar run to what Steve did. With the photo stops included.

Saturday 14th May if anyone is interested.

Steve, if possible could you detail the route you took and stops for the pics?

I drove from Elrick to Tarland and took first picture across from Kathy's Pharmacy. Then through to Ballater for lunch and then back to Tarland. From Tarland I headed back towards Midmar, but took the road through Cushnie to Strathdon and then over the Lecht to Tomintoul and then onto Dufftown. Filled up with fuel and stayed away from the chipper this time and headed back over the Lecht and stopped for a couple of photos before descending down towards Cockbridge. The photo with the snowplough was taken just before Billy Connollys old house at Candacraig and the other picture (car in garage) was taken before the shop and narrow bridge at Bellabeg. From here I just took the Strathdon road back to Bridge of Alford, then headed south to the old Crossroads Hotel on the Midmar road and then took this road back to Elrick.

Hope you have a good run and hope to see some pictures posted and a little write up.

I may join you for part of the run, but you should post up another thread just for that.

Thanks Steve.

I'll have something posted by Monday for my planned run.

Everyone welcome to join at any stage but main thing for me are some photo stops up north and some on route note taking so I can write up my day on here.
