Help. Beginner Violin Lessons.. NLC ;-)

Post by Ferg » Mon Mar 28, 2016 9:42 pm

No not me, that's would be beyond daft. Lol

Thing is, our G started the school type lessons six months ago, and the teacher has said that he has a natural capability that would be much better addressed with private tuition. I'm not musical at all so have been grasping at straws. I've tried the intermanet, gumtree etc but not found anything. Most advertised lessons are full, or no longer practicing for various reasons.

G really enjoys playing and is constantly writing his own tunes now. I want to encourage him, but I'm out my depth. My contribution so far has been providing the music for the Emperial March from Star Wars. That's great BTW :blackeye

So as SE can usually answer any question. Can anyone help finding a violin tutor? Closer to West Edinburgh the better.

Any help appreciated :cheers

Ferg, I should be able to find you somebody. Most of the Stewart Melville's music teachers also do private tuition, I believe (my son still has a singing tutor from the school). I'll see if I can work out who does the violin. I also know a music teacher that works in the state system - she's bound to know somebody who can do violin properly.

I'll let you know when I hear back.

Cheers,
Robin

I knew I knew someone - my neighbour is a professional violinist! She doesn't do tuition but knows people who do ... she's put the feelers out.

Cheers,
Robin
