Garage Burglaries Aberdeenshire

Post by 111Robin » Fri Apr 01, 2016 5:50 pm

My garage was broken into last night as was my neighbours. Police advised there were quite a few last night and recently in Balmedie and surrounding areas. Strangely nothing was taken so they must have been looking for specifics, police reckoned motor bikes. My CCTV picked up some banging on the door but they somehow managed to crawl in and disable it without triggering it. Keep your eyes and ears open.

Sorry to hear about your break in, I know from experience what it feels like as we got done about 10 years ago, it's not a nice feeling that person or persons have been in your property......lets hope this low life scum get caught soon.

There was a spate of garages burgled just outside Perth a few days ago. Touring thieves maybe.

There has been a spate of burglaries in our area over a couple of weekends, 8 houses done in one weekend and a local who challenged 3 travellers during a break-in was hospitalised.
One Traveller has since been arrested but refuses to give up the other 2.

Scary. I have gravel, dogs and guns but no alarm...

My mate near Blairdaff was burgled a few years back. He was out at work and the scumbags were in his house for most of the day, took virtually everything from a new Disco4, trailer, quad bike and tools to an old Barbour jacket, welly boots, pictures and food from the fridge. His dog was shut in the utility room and wasn't hurt thankfully - that's his way of looking at it.

Ah no... Sorry to read / hear this! But also glad they don't appear to have taken anything. What CCTV set up are you using? Only reason I ask is I'm currently about to purchase something this week. I keep putting it off but your thread reminds me that I must do something about it.

I would have loved to have been able to document our flooding events for insurance purposes... Currently the council driver who drove down our road in a bloody big snow plough creating a massive bow wave denies destroying 7 houses of stone dykes / knocking over fences at 06:30 after we all evacuated.

Nothing fancy, Samsung Smartcam. I recieve notifications of motion and audio events on my phone, unfortunately I had the phone switched off that night. It did record the door being banged around loudly but nothing after. They must have seen the camera from outside and worked out how to get to it without being seen. I've relocated it to make this more difficult but I guess everything is a compromise, if they want in the will get in. However I have now found a use for one of my golf clubs that hasn't seen the light of day for 15 years !.
