For some balance.

I've sold one car and one van to WBAC. On both occasions they were offering within £200-£300 of what I was expecting to achieve in a private sale. That's before I paid for advertising, fixed a couple of niggling faults that I'd have had to attend to before attempting a private sale and the inevitable "will you take x (advertised price x 50%) cash for it mate" nonsense that comes along thereafter.

One one of these occasions they were £1k above the best PX valuation I could find.

No attempt was made to deduct anything from the price agreed online. I booked via Topcashback and got an extra £50 for my troubles.

Fantastic service, happy customer.

Regards,

Jeremy

PS I am in no way affiliated with WBAC etc etc.

Mark, you have not answered the question as to what damage was done just from a reversal into it, or shown any pics.

Surely it is just a repair job?

Yeah I could just repair it myself but the bill will be circa £1200+ just to repair and paint, I pay the insurance so that I don't have to incur these costs and as advised by Craig I can cancel the claim at any time if I'm not happy and just do that so we'll just wait and see what the insurance have to say about it all and take it from there.. They've been very slow to date, claim lodged in December and only now after I prompted them are they looking for a quote and getting their engineer involved, front clam has 3- splits on leading edge, the bit onside the radiator intake is split in several places all along underneath... I'm not stressing as I have a few options now and Craig has been on the blower putting my mind at ease too :thumbsup

I must be fortunate with my Insurer. As soon as the other guy reported the incident they gave me a choice of two approved garages to take it into for a quote.

After I received it they sent the assessor around to the house to check the car over and he approved the quote, even though at £6.5K I thought that it was too high. The car went in a week later for the repair and I was given a courtesy car even though the accident was my fault.

Not sure what happened with the Excess, it said £750 on the Policy but the garage asked for £150. I also ended up with a full respray instead of just a door and sill. Good result all around.
