As regards registration, does it go through automatically, or does it have to be approved as in S_E by a moderator?

It goes through automatically Tut.
You just click on the link that you get emailed and that activates your registration.

Phil,

I think that can be done but it means that new posters may need to wait a few hours for the mods to notice. Homosapiens are generally impatient so i think automatic registraiton is a good thing.

At present we can moderate as we see fit and also delete anyone who displays moronic tendencies. we can also monitor IP addresses so there is a degree of security

Dragging this up again - do we still agree that totally private is the way to go?

I think we may get more sign ups if we open it to viewing by all, but restrict posting to registered members?

Shall I go ahead with this, or are there any objections?

I don't mind but I would like to put a restriction on the Meets section. Someone on the Yahoo group mentioned other forums being infiltrated so keeping meets private would be best IMHO.
