Keep the updates coming. I don’t know how you can contain the excitement. Although I guess the Jeep,is the maybe the antidote to Stratos excitement.

The Jeep... there's a joke in there somewhere about them seeing you coming - with all the lights of course
I don't really watch much telly so had never heard of the Queer as Folk connotations with Jeeps. It was only after a ton of comments from mates and things on FB that I twigged that it wasn't anything personal.

So another small update for anyone still awake.
Apparently my oil leak wasn't really anything significant and LB sorted it. Oil was dribbling down a threaded plug in the cylinder head when the engine was running but because it was behind the cam wheels it wasn't obvious where it was coming from on the rolling road at the mapping sessions. So.... it goes back to the rolling road next week to be properly set up.
This is a quick video (that I'm not really meant to share yet) taken down at LB a couple of days ago after the leak was sorted. LB say that it's running just on the base map so not ideal, you can hear a flat spot in mid-range and the throttle bodies need balancing... but as a starting point they say it's chuffing awesome!!

More to follow next week I expect
That is going to be epic. I have one of those engines in standard guise in my GTA and it is an absolute joy and bloody quick. In this tuned spec with throttle bodies in the back of a Stratos is blowing my mind

A sneak preview, just for SE at the moment, of a clip of one of the RR sessions.
As I said previously, part of the appeal for me was to have a Pop-Bang-Flame mode in the selectable mapping to get the full-on rally car effect. This is a gentle reving clip they sent to show me what it will be like. Imagine when it's on full chat!!
Whoop Whoop.

Love it. Just don’t send the clip to Greta Thunberg, every ‘pop’ is additional polar melting

Completely awesome, Jim.
My son James is beside himself with excitement over this, after his first rally this weekend (no Stratos sadly) and seeing several at Silverstone Classic in the summer.
Can we be first to come and see it when you get it?!

I'm getting a bit more excited myself at the moment.
They have a video of it on the rollers all the way up to 7000rpm but the bloke with the recording is off at the moment.
Apparently it's quite noisy.

Loving this Jim - your excitedness is wholly justified
Question - for SVA or whatever the test it'll have to pass, will it just be a case of switching it to a standard map and all will be rosy with noise/emissions etc?

There’s no cats fitted so I’m not sure if there’s a Volkswagen-esq MOT map or if it will go through the test with a different IVA compliant quieter exhaust because I guess I’ll have the same issue when it needs a first MOT after 3 years.

I guess I'll be unlucky if I find another car in the Tesco carpark with yellow wheels
