Based on Campbell route options on a previous topic I can’t find thought I’d ask.
Driving up from Harrogate Monday and although weather is looking dire, anyone with thoughts for routes ?
Happy to do an hour or 2 extra driving to get home so looking for decent driving roads which can drive at reasonable pace but want to avoid the really slow but interesting indirect roads you can end up on and loose many hours in the Dales.
Not so sure roads near Harrogate, I expect to end up on A68 (but don’t if some of the others roads further south are good) but would expect to end up on A72 at Peebles or Lanark onto home.

Re: Route planner Harrogate to Hamilton
May be on the wrong side but popping through the Yorkshire Dales to Hawes and popping along to Ribblehead viaduct for a photo stop may be a good waste of 2 hours.
If you go to the East then pop into Twisted at Thirsk if its close by for a coffee stop and enjoy the lovely Defenders when your having a cuppa
