Re: Anyone bought a new car recently?
I did wonder to be honest as the interior looked a shade darker. Difficult to tell sometimes. I just happen to have had an F12 in TDF blue and cuoio 3 years ago. Enjoy!

Bravo sir! Lovely

I'm guessing scozia is darker than TdF?
A friend has an F12 in Blu Swaters which is similar

Scozia is darker and a ‘historic’ colour. It’s flat rather than metallic but looks (to my eyes) very nice indeed. Here’s a pic from the production line:

Re: Anyone bought a new car recently?
Keeping up the tradition of getting something that will be totally wasted on me I've gone and bought a McLaren 600LT Spider
I always thought McLarens all looked a bit similar apart from the one where the exhausts come out the top of the engine and spit flames rather than out the back so thought that was a good enough way to narrow down the choice in combination with a need for orange seat belts
Anyhow, the 1st owner obviously had more money than sense and ticked a lot of the more expensive options
Carbon pack 1 (door mirror casings and extended side intakes) was £3,300.
Carbon pack 2 (front splitter with integrated twin endplates, side skirts with aero winglets, rear bumper with integrated diffuser, rear bumper aero fins and rear spoiler) was just under £5,900.
Carbon Fibre Pack 3: Carbon Fibre Exterior Door Inserts, Rear Deck and Service Cover for the oil etc and was a snip at £15895 from the factory option list.
MSO Clubsport pack which included the carbon louvres, carbon Senna seats, carbon interior upgrade and titanium wheel bolts was £18,200
Plus an additional £4k for the full McLaren Track Telemetry system and inbuilt cameras.
The Security pack with nose lift, front and rear parking sensors, rearview camera and car cover was £4k, plus an ugrade to Bowers & Wilkins 12-speaker audio, and soft-close doors – was another £4kish
MSO Silica White paint at over £6k a pop and has full body ppf from new
On top of all that, I think you had to pay for the rest of the car as well. Oh yeah, it also has the Ultra-Light 5 spoke alloys and not your regular Super-Light alloys. I think that cost a lot as well.
Since I have more sense than money, I've bought it 2nd hand from the owner. Being really sensible I've also bought it with a 2 year full McLaren warranty.
Picking it up next weekend.

Haha
Jim that’s the smartest new car I’ve seen in a looong while. Really well done
Love a fully carboned Macca and rare to see them in white (or is that just brushed unobtanium gleaming in the sun

Re: Anyone bought a new car recently?
I'd actually discounted white (and black) initially. Other than orange I don't really associate McLaren with any particular colour and I was never really taken with any of the various oranges available. I was just focused on as much gloss carbon as possible and the Senna seats and wanted something that best contrasted that. There was a white coupe at the Glasgow dealership and I went through to have a nosy a few weeks ago and that changed my opinion on white. Suppose the Stratos is white under all the war-paint so they might make a decent pair

Re: Anyone bought a new car recently?
Jim,
Looks absolutely fantastic, its mouth watering how much people spend on carbon when speccing a mclaren/ferrari etc.
Is that the same variant of McLaren that Harry Metcalfe has just recently purchased?

Great looking car Jim, enjoy it.
Options price reminds me of an Evo group test that I read in 2021 when I was thinking about buying a Lexus LC500.
Cost of the options on the Ferrari Roma was more than the cost of the Lexus !

Re: Anyone bought a new car recently?
Thanks all. I think it's a 650 that Harry Metcalfe has. Normal exhausts that just stick out the back
The option costs are crazy. I've just been taking a closer look and the 5 spoke Ultra Lightweight wheels were £4200 plus £1170 to have them in gloss black and £600 for titanium wheel bolts. Incredibly it comes with an "MSO defined ignition key" at £400 and from what I can remember that just seemed to be an orange fob... presumably to match the £300 orange seat belts.
