Bio-ethanol Exige on 5th Gear tonight

Post by kenny » Mon Nov 13, 2006 6:52 pm

If you can tolerate sitting through an hour of VBH going "oohoohheehee squeak snort" and the other one giving it " I know nuffink abaaht caaars but I'm blaady great" then Tiffani Dell will be going a 30 second stint on the bio ethanol Exige where no doubt he will miss the point completely and spend the time trying to show how good he is at drifting.

8.00pm Fifth Gear
Tom Ford test drives the new Volvo C30 hatchback to discover whether its makers have finally blended style with practicality. Jason Plato hits the road with a challenge to find a supercar for the same price as the popular Ford Fiesta Style, and Tiff Needell checks out the environmentally-friendly, bio-ethanol-fuelled Lotus Exige 265E. Plus, a preview of the latest Bond car, the Aston Martin DBS, in new 007 movie Casino

I must be the only one here that quite likes the programme. It has its problems but what programme dosn't. VBH used to be better I have to admit and her co-presenter can be a bit of a duffer and useless as a passenger but its not that bad. Top Gear can be crap in places as well. But both are far better than most of the other crap that appears to be on TV, apart from the Gadget Show that is.

Nice to see Lotus keeping up appearances on TV

Iain

PS The thing that really pisses me off about Ffith Gear is that they didn't give me the Elise in the James Bond competition, and the answer was "The Spy that loved me" in which I starred (well maybe not quite a star but did appear in it)

Was at the start, a To Gear challenge thing. Got to buy a car for 9k, looked at a old M3 conv and an ancient 911. Then went left field and looked at a 67k S1 for 7250 to make a profit ...

They basically took a 240r (thats why its got those wheels etc) and and made a few adjustments for the fuel - it has a high octain rating so this allowed quite an agressive tune. 240Cup cars in Europe have been able to hit 265hp with changes to induction and zausts so the 265 with Bio-E so OK but not that amazing.
