I finished stripping the Escort for donor parts for my Locost and sold what was left on it on eBay. The new owner took it away last Saturday.
Shug and a million other people told me it was too good to break, even the new owner berated me for "butchering" it. He'd bought it to use some of the panels and glass to restore his mk2 RS2000 shell but was having second thoughts about cutting it up himself.
I assured him that you get over that in about 15 minutes and sure enough I got this email today . . .
kids got attached on the way home, called the car dimeetry, and decided we would re build it. i wanded 4 5 days and took the cheese cutter to it while the kids were out........ the back end is going for sandblasting and red led to be chopped out and don the r.s. THE BUTCHER ...

aaaaaaarrrggghhhh!
I love Mk2's! Hate seeing wasteful pictures like that.
However, not that bad considering it was a 4 door!
That reminds me, do you know anyone thats looking for RS2000 alloys - I've got a full set in my garage from when i had one.

The guy who bought it might be interested, his RS2000 has Capri Laser alloys - I will email him and ask.

Actually - are the RS2000 and Capri Laser alloys the same things? The 4 spokers?

Dunno, mine look the same style as your picture, they are 13" x 6J. I'm pretty certain they are Capri ones and not RS2000.

I have a set of Fiesta Supersport RS alloys as well, same size, but again different ofset.
I wish I had not scrapped the car, still makes me smile when I look at the old pics I have of it.

At least there will be one working Mk2 coming out of this; otherwise you would have a broken RS2000 and what was left of the butchered 4 door ...
Anyway, the Mk2's were clearly totally and utterly inferior to the much better looking Mk1's (I had a couple of each IIRC - possibly my 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th cars were escorts, then moved onto the MkIV cortina which only had 2nd gear

).
Cheers,
Robin
