Esprit sale.. delayed!

Post by renmure » Sat Nov 25, 2006 2:16 pm

My Esprit GT3 sale was all agreed, the buyer made lots of enquiries about the car and, despite not actually having seen the car, paid a substantial deposit. He was coming up from Norwich today and had arranged to be at mine tommorrow morning to collect the car and pay the balance. Last night, after cleaning and polishing it to death I jumped in and turned on the ignition for the last time... thought how nice it sounded...switched it off... then saw a huge pool of oil forming under the front RHS of the car.

Seems like a knackered oil cooler / oil cooler pipe. Think it lost about 1litre of oil in about 1min ticking over. Definately a bummer but I am relieved that it happened in my garage rather than on the M6 heading south with the buyer. Soooo... the car is off on a low loader to be fixed. Thankfully the buyer is just frustrated (but also grateful I guess) rather than pi$$ed off. Sale delayed by a week by the looks of it. :?

Lotus, dont ya just luv em :D

I can remeber a buyer who travelled up from hull to buy my Marcos. On test driving it on of the brake hoses burst :thumbsdown :thumbsdown . Just as well it had a very good hand brake.!!!!! He still bought it for the agreed price.and just as well he was in the AA and got transported home. :drive
